friends are family { florida child photographer }

I got a phone call a few weeks ago from one of my closest and dearest friends, Michelle. Her daughter's 9th birthday was coming up, and she really wanted Cami to be there. She lives in Tampa, and normally, I can't just pick up and go - work, kids, etc. But, I checked my calendar, and it was actually free! So on Friday, the whole family hopped into the car and drove to Tampa to spend the weekend with my Michelle and her family. It was so wonderful to spend the weekend together, not only for us, but for the kids. For the past 7 years, Michelle and I have been meeting every summer to make sure that the kids got to spend time together. Now, they truly look forward to their "summer weekend" and so do we. They seem to get closer each year, and I know that it makes both of our hearts happy.

I found this photo from one of our first summer weekends together. It is actually from 2004 - and when I look at the two photos side by side, part of me wants to cry and the other part smiles. I can't get over how much they have grown, and I am grateful that they have grown up together.
