our sunrise beach session {south florida child photographer}
We were adventure girls. We packed our things the night before - clothing for the photo session, a towel, a bagel, Reese's backpack and lunchbox, and her school clothes. We woke up at 5:45 a.m., excited for her sunrise beach session, something we had talked about for weeks. We wanted to get it done before the Daylight Savings time change, when we would have to get up at 4:45 a.m. to make the sunrise. But, when we woke up, it was dark and pouring rain with lighting. We got ready anyway. We drove to the beach in the dark pouring rain, trying to stay optimistic. Often, if it is raining out west, it is not raining out east by the beach. But, this wasn't the case. When we got to the beach, it was still pouring, yet we decided to wait. We hung out in the car, singing to the radio, happy to be together on this adventure. Then, we saw the pink sun come up. It was still raining, and we still waited, and then finally, a few minutes after the sun began to rise, the rain stopped. And we grabbed the bag of clothes, a towel, and my camera bag, and ran onto the sand. Reese danced around by the water's edge, spinning in her sweet dress, making silly faces and poses. Then, she changed into her bathing suit, and became the nutty Reese I often see. She jumped, made sand angels, flew around like an airplane, and enjoyed the beach - one of her favorite places. I am so glad that we didn't give up, that we went on our adventure, and that I documented my daughter in a place she loves, being the girl I love.
